Italian State Police have arrested the leader of a Romanian hacker gang specializing in ransomware attacks. The apprehension resulted from a joint operation involving authorities from Italy, France, and Romania.
The investigation, led by the Milan Cyber Center and coordinated by the Postal Police and Cyber Security Service, identified numerous suspects, all Romanian nationals, within a few months.
A Milan judge ordered the main suspect, a 44-year-old man deemed highly dangerous, to be held in preventive detention.
