Travelers in South Tyrol faced severe disruptions on Tuesday due to a peak-travel “black sticker” alert on the Brenner Motorway and torrential rainfall. On the A22 highway, extensive queues formed toward the Austrian border as German tourists began their return journey, while southbound lanes between Bressanone and Chiusa were blocked by an accident.
Congestion also gripped the Puster and Venosta valleys, along with urban centers in Bolzano and Merano. With rain dampening outdoor plans, many tourists abandoned their routes to seek refuge in the two cities instead.
