Historic Estate of Late Industrialist Raul Gardini Lists for €9.5 Million

The renowned “Monaldina” estate, once owned by Raul Gardini, has been listed for sale at €9.5 million. Situated in the countryside between Ravenna and the Adriatic coast, the property—described by ‘Corriere Romagna’ as “a piece of history where Italy’s industrial elite made pivotal decisions”—is now marketed via a Rome-based luxury real estate agency.

At its heart stands an 18th-century villa designed in 1780 by Camillo Morigia, architect of Dante’s tomb. The residence anchors a five-hectare park featuring a converted hay barn, reimagined by Gardini and architect Gae Aulenti. Within this space, the original model of the *Il Moro di Venezia* America’s Cup yacht hangs suspended as a centerpiece.

The estate includes:

– The main villa

– A 144 sqm two-level guest house

– A 100 sqm staff residence

All enclosed by a 1.6-km-long, three-meter-high holm oak hedge. The grounds contain a helipad, a 14-meter iron sculpture titled *Il cavallo di Leonardo* (created by Ben Jakober and Yannick Vu for the 1993 Venice Biennale), and two swimming pools connected by a wooden bridge.
