An 85-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle this morning at 10 a.m. in Ghisalba, located in the Lower Bergamo area. The impact threw the elderly man several meters. Despite the prompt intervention of emergency medical services, who arrived on the scene with a medical car and an ambulance, nothing could be done to save him.
The accident occurred on Provincial Road Francesca. The driver of the car, a 47-year-old man, emerged unscathed.
This is the second fatal cycling incident in the Bergamo province in two days. Yesterday, in the same area of the Bassa, a 72-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a truck while riding her bicycle in Martinengo.
