A pileup involving two trucks that burst into flames has caused gridlock on the A26 Genoa-Gravellona Toce highway northbound between the A10 junction and Masone. Highway operator ASPI reports crews are distributing water to motorists stranded in queues amid a ministry of Health “red sticker” heat alert in Liguria.
The A26 remains completely blocked toward Gravellona Toce with 3 kilometers of tailbacks. ASPI advises travelers heading to Turin or Milan to use the A7 Serravalle-Genoa instead. The A10 closure has also created 5-kilometer queues toward Genoa between Arenzano and the A26 junction, plus 4-kilometer backups toward Ventimiglia stretching from Genoa Pegli to the A26 interchange.
Emergency responders including Autostrade per l’Italia personnel and firefighters remain on scene managing the incident.
