Local Police Officers Contain Fire at Riccione Apartment Building

Four local police officers en route to conduct routine coastal patrols at Riccione beach spotted smoke billowing from the roof of a port-area condominium around 2 PM on Tuesday. Flames had begun engulfing the structure when the officers intervened. They swiftly evacuated residents from the building, ensuring no occupants remained inside, before ascending to the roof. Using a fire hose, they contained the blaze while awaiting fire brigade reinforcements. Firefighters later arrived with an aerial ladder to complete extinguishing operations. The officers also secured a nearby hotel after falling debris, dislodged by firefighting efforts, endangered the adjacent property.
