Mfe-MediaSet has consolidated its position as the leading shareholder in German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1, now holding 40.3% of its share capital and 40.2% of voting rights. The disclosure emerged from periodic filings regarding the Italian group’s ongoing takeover bid.
Separately, today marks the closing of Czech investment group Ppf’s rival tender offer for ProSieben, which has seen minimal acceptance thus far. Ppf currently holds 18.3% of the company, with an additional 2.5% expected from General Atlantic’s contribution and approximately 15% already under its control. Meanwhile, Mfe-MediaSet’s offer will remain active through September 1, as formally confirmed by Germany’s financial regulator, Bafin.
