A 45-year-old Tunisian man was arrested Saturday night for the attempted murder of his 43-year-old wife in Montebeni, a wooded residential area near Fiesole, Florence. The victim’s mother, who lives in the same complex, raised the alarm around 10 PM after discovering the assault in a ground-floor communal room.
Carabinieri found the woman with critical injuries inflicted by a billhook (agricultural blade), which lay at the scene.
