Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto announced he has authorized a military mission involving Army and Air Force assets to transport and airdrop essential supplies to civilians in Gaza, “severely affected by the protracted conflict,” acting in compliance with government directives. An advance party is set to deploy within hours to handle preparatory activities and coordination with local authorities. The first Italian airdrops are planned and could commence as early as August 9th, allowing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Maeci) time to complete the procurement of food supplies and their transport to Jordan.
