President Donald Trump announced in an interview with Real America’s Voice that the United States is nearing a trade agreement with India and may also strike a deal with the European Union, though prospects with Canada remain uncertain.
“We’re very close with India and… we might perhaps reach an agreement with the EU,” Trump stated, noting a shift in the bloc’s stance. “The European Union has been brutal, but now they’re acting very kindly. They want a deal, and it’ll be very different from what we’ve had for years,” he added.
When questioned about Canada—which, like the EU, is preparing retaliatory measures should talks collapse—Trump responded, “It’s too early to say” whether an accord can be achieved.
