From consultants and local ambassadors to community managers for special interest groups and professional storytellers, all who qualify as Travel Makers will be the key figures at the upcoming BIT (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo). The international tourism trade show runs February 10-12, 2026, at Fiera Milano.
Organizers state the project stems from the understanding that “tourism is not just movement: it is connection, relationship, regeneration, creating bonds between people, cultures, and territories. It transcends boundaries—geographical, cultural, mental—to foster new travel ecosystems where the tourist experience becomes an engine of shared value.”
The heart of BIT 2026 will be the Travel Makers Fest. Here, communities will delve into issues and share values and stories around the theme “Building Bridges. Imagining New Ecosystems.” Six arenas – four vertical stages and two main plazas – will host over 200 sessions across three days, featuring six hours daily of talks, seminars, and discussions. Key themes include: Discovery (exploring the world and self), Backstage (behind-the-scenes of tourism), (Im)Possible (inspirational tales from great travellers), This Must Be the Place (spotlight on destinations), and Bit&Friends, featuring deep dives with experts on cross-cutting topics like artificial intelligence, hospitality design, e-commerce, and data management.
The Travel Makers Fest experience also includes Future Travel Minds, an event dedicated to young professionals, students, changemakers, and startups envisioning the future of tourism. Discussions will cover inclusive leadership, sustainability and impact, smart destinations, branding, new professions, mentorship, and innovation.
BIT’s exhibition area in the FieraMilano Rho halls will be organized into six thematic districts – Italy, World, Travel Expert, Hospitality, Transportation, and Innovation – representing all facets of the industry.
