A vintage car with foreign plates collided with three pedestrians in Sciacca’s Via Roma on Monday, injuring all three—one critically—in an area designated for restricted traffic access. The vehicle, reportedly suffering brake failure, struck a German family of tourists: a father, mother, and daughter. The mother sustained severe head trauma and remains hospitalized in grave condition. Her husband and daughter suffered minor injuries, as did the elderly local driver—a Sciacca resident who previously lived in Germany. Emergency responders transported the injured to Giovanni Paolo II Hospital. Sciacca police are investigating the incident.
