German authorities in Zweibrücken have arrested a 29-year-old Somali man accused of kidnapping and torturing migrants. He is further charged with murdering a fellow Somali child by slitting the boy’s throat after the victim resisted his attempt to film a sexual assault. The perpetrator allegedly intended to use the footage to extort ransom from the child’s family.
The arrest was executed under a European Arrest Warrant by German police in coordination with Italy’s SCO (Central Operational Service), SCICO (Central Organized Crime Investigation Service), and Palermo’s Mobile Squad. The warrant followed a pre-trial detention order issued by a preliminary investigations judge at the request of Palermo’s Anti-Mafia District Directorate (DDA).
