At least 16 people were killed and another 35 wounded in a Russian attack overnight on a prison facility in Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia Region, according to regional military administration head Ivan Fedorov.
Fedorov, reporting via Telegram as cited by Ukrainska Pravda, stated, “Overnight, the enemy bombarded the Zaporizhzhia Region eight times, initially with FABs [guided aerial bombs]. They also struck the penal colony: 16 people died and 35 were injured.”
He added that the prison facility was destroyed in the assault and nearby residential buildings sustained damage.
