Valentina Greco, the 42-year-old Cagliari woman found in Tunisia last month after disappearing for around ten days, returned to Sardinia overnight. Her journey took her from Tunis to Milan Malpensa airport before finally arriving in Cagliari.
Greco, reported to be severely affected both physically and psychologically, requested through her lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli that she not be inundated with questions about her experience in Tunisia or filmed upon arrival. Lawyer Piscitelli clarified this is not opposition to the media, but an “understandable human request given her physical state.” He stated Greco will provide clarifications, corrections, and further details through him at a later time.
In anticipation of her return, the Municipality of Selargius – where Greco’s family resides near Cagliari – is organizing a welcome, led by Mayor Pier Luigi Concu. Rita Ragatzu, Councillor for Youth Policies and Productive Activities, contacted Greco’s parents to offer any necessary transport or assistance upon her airport arrival.
