Closing arguments for the defense resumed in Tempio Pausania for Ciro Grillo, Francesco Corsiglia, Edoardo Capitta, and Vittorio Lauria, accused of gang raping an Italian-Norwegian student and her friend. This morning, attorney Mariano Mameli—representing Capitta alongside colleague Ernesto Monteverde—will conclude his presentation. Chief Prosecutor Gregorio Capasso may then deliver rebuttals, having previously sought nine-year prison sentences for all four defendants. The judicial panel, chaired by Marco Contu with judges Marcella Pinna and Alessandro Cossu, could convene in chambers this afternoon to deliberate the verdict.
