Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes has ordered the freezing of all movable and immovable assets, bank accounts, and Pix digital payment keys belonging to federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro.
The confidential decision, issued last Saturday as part of an investigation into the congressman’s activities in the United States, was made public today by CNN Brasil.
Eduardo Bolsonaro, the third son of former President Jair Bolsonaro—commonly referred to as “03” in Brazil—has resided in the US since March. The freeze prohibits any financial transactions, including receiving or sending money. Consequently, his salary from the Chamber of Deputies will remain frozen in his account.
CNN Brasil reports the preventive measure forms part of an investigative strategy known as “financial suffocation,” where blocking assets aims to disrupt the continuity of alleged criminal practices.
