Tokyo edged down 0.06%, while Hong Kong fell 1.5% and Shanghai retreated 1.2%. Shenzhen dipped 0.2%, though Seoul gained 0.8% and Sydney rose 0.6%. Futures for Wall Street and European markets saw marginal gains as traders awaited U.S. Q2 GDP data, preceded by German and Eurozone figures. Corporate earnings remain in focus, with Meta and Microsoft reporting today, followed by Amazon and Apple tomorrow. Quarterly results continue to pour in across Atlantic markets.
The dollar held steady against the euro at 1.1548 ahead of the Fed meeting. Oil prices maintained most of their prior gains—the strongest in six weeks—with Brent crude dipping slightly by 0.1% to $72.44.
