In a video message for the “Partita del Cuore” (Heart Match) charity event, the Pope stated that the words “match” and “heart” should be united. He praised the event – a televised sporting fundraiser – for supporting life and care, contrasting it with destruction and death.
The Pontiff directly appealed for “a truce, a time to halt the pursuit of hatred,” warning that “our very humanity is at stake.”
