The witness to the disappearance of Allen, the 5-year-old boy who vanished last July 11th shortly after arriving with his parents and sister at a campsite in Ventimiglia and was later found yesterday at approximately 9:00 AM by three civil protection volunteers, has been placed under investigation for failure to render aid. While the initial hypothesis was child abandonment, the Prosecutor’s Office, after reviewing the police report, has now opted to proceed with the charge of failure to render aid.
The man had contacted authorities, stating he helped the child cross the road after escorting him to a junction, having heard the boy repeatedly say “papa, papa”. The new charge stems from his alleged failure to assist the minor further.
Meanwhile, Allen has been discharged from the hospital following psychological and physical examinations. He was found in woods approximately 3 km from the campsite and is reported to be in good condition. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni hailed the discovery as “beautiful news”.
