Como traffic police have arrested Francesco Pagano, 60, from Somma Lombardo (Varese), the driver of a school bus involved in a fatal collision on May 19th. Pagano’s bus, carrying children, rear-ended a truck on the Pedemontana highway near Lomazzo (Como).
The crash resulted in the death of 43-year-old teacher Domenica Russo, who was aboard the bus accompanying her elementary school pupils from Cazzago Brabbia (Varese). The class was returning from a trip to the Toy Horse Museum in Grandate. The Como Prosecutor’s Office requested Pagano’s house arrest based on evidence suggesting he was using his smartphone at the time of the accident.
