Preliminary autopsy results have shed no light on the mysterious death of Erika Ferini Strambi, the 53-year-old woman found deceased on July 16th in farmland between Pantigliate and Peschiera Borromeo near Milan. The examination revealed no clear signs of violence, such as stab wounds or gunshots, and her skull was intact.
However, rib fractures consistent with an accident were discovered. Strambi’s specially adapted Mini Cooper, modified with pedals for her disability, was found in a ditch nearby, and the impact could have caused these fractures.
Yet multiple anomalies mark the 53-year-old’s tragic end. She vanished overnight between July 5th and 6th after an evening at a karaoke bar in Segrate (Milan). Her body was found 200 meters from her crashed car. Her crutches, which she needed due to severe mobility issues, were lying beside her body in the tall, thick grass. However, neither her phone nor her handbag were located.
Investigations continue by the Carabinieri Investigative Unit in Milan. A case file has been opened for suspected murder, assigned to prosecutor Francesco De Tommasi. Investigators are now scrutinizing Strambi’s work phone and computer to map her contacts and determine if she had arranged to meet anyone that night.
Numerous puzzling details demand explanation: Erika Strambi’s car was found with its doors closed and keys inside, while her body lay some distance away – a journey she could only have made with difficulty given her disability. A further anomaly prevents ruling out third-party involvement: her underwear was found removed beside the body.
