Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for a hit-and-run incident that killed 35-year-old Valerio Sibilia on Rome’s Viale Kant during the night of June 25. The driver struck Sibilia, abandoned his vehicle at the scene, and fled while the victim lay fatally injured on the roadway.
Officers from the Tuscolano Seventh Group responded immediately, launching an investigation to reconstruct the accident through witness testimonies, forensic evidence, and on-site analysis.
Investigators traced the suspect to a nomad camp on Via di Salone. After days of surveillance, police located the young man this morning. He attempted to escape but was apprehended. Judicial authorities have ordered his formal detention as a criminal suspect.
