Microsoft has attributed a global cyberattack exploiting SharePoint vulnerabilities to hacking groups Linen Typhoon and Violet Typhoon. In a blog post by the tech giant, these groups were identified as operating since mid-2010, historically focusing on intellectual property theft and espionage. Microsoft also reported that a “third China-based actor” exploited the same SharePoint security flaw. The company detailed these findings in its official communication.
