European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared on social media platform X: “Civilians can never be targets. Never. The images from Gaza are unbearable.” She emphasized the EU’s renewed call for “free, safe and rapid flow of humanitarian aid” and “full compliance with international and humanitarian law.” Von der Leyen stated, “The civilians of Gaza have suffered too much, for too long. This must end now. Israel must keep its promises.”
