Milan’s FTSE MIB Edges Down 0.1% Amid Mixed Corporate Moves

Milan’s FTSE MIB index dipped marginally by 0.1% to 40,115 points, with Poste Italiane surging 3.2% to €18.42 after releasing quarterly results. Iveco also gained 1.83% as Exor prepares to sell it to Tata following the spin-off of Idv, which has attracted interest from groups including Leonardo (+0.08%). Conversely, STMicroelectronics fell 2.36%, mirroring European peers and a semiconductor sector slump in Tokyo driven by U.S. tariff concerns. Prysmian (-1.65%), Interpump (-1.45%), and Stellantis (-1.4%) declined amid lingering effects of preliminary reports. Banks traded unevenly: Banco Bpm dropped 0.83% ahead of Unicredit’s (+0.16%) takeover bid closure, while Unicredit’s board convened to approve quarterly results due tomorrow. Mediobanca slid 0.46% during Monte dei Paschi’s (+0.27%) public exchange offer, as CEO Luigi Lovaglio pitched the project to investors in New York. Popolare Sondrio rose 0.8% in the final week to join Bper’s (+0.45%) takeover bid.
