Sky Italia has established a unified Content Directorate to oversee its entire portfolio—spanning both pay and free offerings. Giuseppe De Bellis assumes the role of Executive Vice President for Sport, News, and Entertainment, leading this strategic integration.
Effective late July, Sky Sport, Sky Tg24, and all content operations—including major original entertainment productions, cinema, TV series, documentaries, and free-to-air channels—will merge into this new division.
A company statement explained this restructuring aims to enhance the richness and quality of Sky’s offerings through an integrated, cross-functional vision. The approach is designed to seize new creative and production opportunities while prioritizing innovation. Key objectives include unlocking the potential of diverse editorial areas by fostering collaboration and cross-pollination among content, talent, and platforms. Sky intends this model to more effectively meet audience expectations by leveraging the strength of its editorial, creative, and production teams, emphasizing passionate, high-quality storytelling, and driving innovation in formats and presentation.
This reorganization signifies a strategic evolution for Sky, integrating content management, production, and distribution under a dynamic, innovation-focused framework. The company aspires to deliver audiences an increasingly rich, engaging, and premium viewing experience.
De Bellis, with Sky since 2018, previously served as Deputy Director of Sky Sport before leading Sky Tg24. His career encompasses extensive editorial expertise—particularly in 360-degree content development with a focus on digital innovation—and managerial proficiency. Under his leadership, Sky Tg24 prioritized major international themes and adopted a data-driven approach to news, utilizing analytics to explain social, economic, and political phenomena. He also spearheaded the outlet’s digital transformation, expanding its web and social offerings, developing documentary-style serial storytelling (docuseries, podcasts), and launching Sky Tg24 Insider—a subscriber-exclusive deep-dive section.
