Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that American partners have relayed an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin for a meeting in Moscow. Speaking at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Zelensky was quoted by Interfax Ukraine as stating, “I believe that if you don’t want a meeting to happen, you should invite me to Moscow.”
Zelensky noted that the fact Russia has begun discussing such a high-level meeting is a positive development in itself. However, he expressed significant skepticism, adding, “But so far, we do not see their willingness to end the war.” According to the Ukrainian leader, any such meeting must yield concrete results, preferably leading to the cessation of hostilities.
