A woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car around noon today in Monte Romano, in the Viterbo province. According to initial reports, the victim was crossing the road on a pedestrian zebra crossing on Via Aurelia Nord when she was hit by a passing vehicle for reasons yet to be determined.
Emergency medical services (118) arrived on the scene and, due to the severity of her injuries, arranged for her to be airlifted via air ambulance under red code conditions to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where she is reportedly still hospitalized. There are no updates on her current condition.
Following the incident, Carabinieri from the local station and officers from the local police also arrived to investigate.
