A vigil was held in central Milan this evening “to inform citizens who may still have doubts—say the organizers—about the genocide in Gaza.” The event was organized by the Association of Palestinians in Italy and, as every Saturday since October 7, 2023, took place as the situation in the Strip grows increasingly dire.
Approximately 300 people were present from 7 p.m. in San Babila square. Activists distributed leaflets and set up a 90-inch screen on a truck to make images from Palestine visible to passersby.
A leaflet from the Vittoria social center read: “Stop the genocide, the ethnic cleansing, the deportation plans, stop Zionism! Let’s mobilize to all go to the large demonstration for Gaza planned for October 4th in Rome.”
Law enforcement officers were also on site. No tensions have been reported at this time.
