Two men, Antonio Mazzola, 27, and Domenico Schiavo, 24, were killed in a high-speed motorcycle accident in Palermo last night. The crash occurred around 3 a.m. in the via Belgio underpass, on the roadway leading to Catania. They were traveling on a white Kawasaki that collided with a guardrail. The impact was so violent that the motorcycle was found a significant distance from their bodies.
Three ambulances and several police cars arrived at the scene. The road was closed for several hours to allow for recovery and investigation.
Antonio Mazzola, one of the victims, had just celebrated his 27th birthday. He worked as a professional sommelier at a renowned restaurant in Palermo’s historic center and also collaborated with an establishment in San Nicola l’Arena. He was accompanied by Domenico Schiavo, who was employed at a betting agency near the Sperone district.
