A two-year-old boy was seriously injured after falling from a window of his family’s home in the town of Busseto, near Parma, in the early afternoon today. The accident occurred shortly after 1:30 PM on Via Barezzi in the town center, where the child, of Indian origin, lives with his family.
Emergency health services (118) were immediately dispatched to the scene. The child was subsequently airlifted by helicopter to the ‘Maggiore’ Hospital in Parma. He is currently hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in guarded condition.
Carabinieri officers arrived on the scene alongside rescue workers and have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. According to initial reports from local media, the leading hypothesis is that the fall was accidental. The child’s mother was reportedly home at the time of the incident, while the father was at work. Both parents have since gone to the hospital.
