Two Italian Detainees in Florida Set for Repatriation

Samuel Gheorghe, the sole Italian citizen currently held at Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz” migrant detention facility, is expected to return to Italy on August 5. Government sources identified Gheorghe as a 30-year-old from Lodi, arrested on July 12 in Miramar, Florida. Separately, Gaetano Mirabella Costa—detained at Alligator in early July before being transferred to the Krome ICE Center in Miami—is scheduled for repatriation on August 6.
