Two men have been apprehended by Milan’s Local Police for the unauthorized use of a stolen credit card after going on a shopping spree for designer clothing on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The investigation began the previous evening when the card was stolen from a passerby on the Navigli.
At the opening of the stores, officers observed three young men carrying numerous branded shopping bags filled with clothing items and followed them to Via Agnello. There, one of the men, a 22-year-old Italian, entered a store and attempted to pay for a pair of shoes with the credit card, which was registered to another person. After the transaction was denied, he was arrested upon exiting the store. An accomplice, a 22-year-old Colombian man, was detained nearby, while a third suspect managed to flee.
Investigations revealed that the group had successfully performed a total of 31 fraudulent transactions with the stolen card that morning, amounting to 1,732 euros. Over 960 euros of this sum was confirmed to have been spent in Milanese stores.
Evidence from store managers, security footage, and fiscal records not only confirmed the illicit origin of the merchandise but also captured the suspects’ behavior. They were seen wearing the new clothing items immediately after leaving the stores and celebrating each successful purchase with exuberant, stadium-like cheering.
