A 21-year-old Tunisian student from the University of Pisa drowned in Lake Sinizzo at San Demetrio ne’ Vestini, L’Aquila province. Preliminary reports indicate the victim, accompanied by his brother and friends, dove into the water shortly after lunch and failed to resurface, likely due to digestive congestion. Witnesses immediately alerted emergency services after observing the incident. Firefighters with dive teams, local police, and carabinieri responded to the scene. This marks the second drowning at the lake in recent months, following the June death of 21-year-old Pakistani resident Rahmat Hussain.
