Carabinieri in Bergamo have arrested a 22-year-old man this morning, alleged to be an accomplice to two youths already in custody for the March 7th murder of Luciano Muttoni in Valbrembo. The victim was killed during a robbery after the assailants broke into his home believing he had money there. The newly arrested individual is charged with complicity in aggravated robbery, but not with the homicide.
According to police reconstructions, the 22-year-old supported the two main suspects—who were arrested on March 10, 2025, for murder and robbery—first by introducing them to each other and later by acting as their driver. He is accused of driving them from the Terno d’Isola railway station to Valbrembo, near Muttoni’s home, immediately before the crime. He then waited near the Solza cemetery to provide them with backpacks containing a change of clothes.
The suspect, who was served a precautionary custody order this morning issued by the Bergamo preliminary investigations judge, is also accused—along with one of the two detainees in Monza prison—of a previous robbery. That incident occurred on February 17, 2025, in Ponte San Pietro, where a man was robbed of his car, mobile phone, and bank card, and was forced under knife and gun threat to reveal his PIN.
