The number of suspects has risen to 42 in the Milan Prosecutor’s Office investigation centered on beatings and torture of young detainees at the Beccaria juvenile prison. This information comes from a request for a preliminary hearing signed by prosecutors Rosaria Stagnaro, Cecilia Vassena, and deputy prosecutor Letizia Mannella, notified today. Among the suspects are three former directors of the institution. Charges include torture, aggravated abuse, assault, and falsification. Last year, 13 correctional officers were arrested in connection with the case, while eight others were suspended. There are 33 identified victims in total.
