A seven-year-old boy, who was struck by a car while riding a bicycle with his mother in Adria (Rovigo), underwent delicate emergency surgery overnight. The driver, a 70-year-old man, was found to be driving without a license.
At the mother’s request, the critically injured child also received the Last Rites.
Meanwhile, investigations conducted by the Local Police of Adria have revealed that not only was the driver unlicensed, but the vehicle was also being driven without insurance.
According to a reconstruction of the incident, the mother and son were traveling on the same bicycle; the woman was pedaling while the boy was seated on a rear child seat when the collision with the car occurred.
