Scamacca’s Goal Not Enough as Atalanta Held to Draw by Pisa

Gianluca Scamacca’s first Serie A goal in 455 days was insufficient for Atalanta, who were held to a 1-1 draw by newly-promoted Pisa. The Bergamo club fell behind due to an own goal from Hien and survived a scare just before halftime, nearly conceding a second after a predictable and sluggish first-half performance. Despite a dominant second half that produced at least seven clear chances—including one shot that struck the crossbar—Atalanta could not find a winner. They were frustrated by a solid Pisa side, managed by Alberto Gilardino, which proved dangerous on the counter-attack and resolute in defence, dropping deep to effectively neutralize Atalanta’s onslaught.
