The twentieth edition of the charity dinners organized by the porters of Santa Rosa was presented this morning in the D’Ercole Hall of Viterbo’s City Hall. The event promises four evenings dedicated to good food, cheer, and, of course, solidarity.
Speaking at the presentation were Mayor Chiara Frontini, the President of the association Massimo Mecarini, the Head Porter Luigi Aspromonte, and all the key figures behind this longstanding event.
From August 26th to 29th, Piazza San Lorenzo will be transformed into an open-air restaurant where thousands of locals will take turns dining with the porters. For the occasion, the porters will take on the roles of chefs and waiters.
The evenings will be enlivened by various shows, including a fashion show organized by an important local atelier.
The menu will feature great classics of local cuisine and beyond, such as beans with pork rind, bruschetta, *coda alla vaccinara* (oxtail stew), and a stew with chestnuts. This year will also see the introduction of a special vegan menu.
“A simple but delicious menu,” explained Aspromonte. “With an affordable price, everyone can come together in good spirits and do good at the same time.”
Mayor Frontini described it as “A magical moment for the community. Our goal is simple: we must make the city come alive to its fullest, for the people of Viterbo and for those who will come to see the Transport and more.”
Mecarini highlighted that “The evening of August 29th will be dedicated to UNITALSI. They need help, and we will do our best to provide it.”
