The Financial Police of Rome have executed nine precautionary measures against public officials from the Municipality of Fiumicino and local entrepreneurs. Among those targeted are the former Culture Councillor, who resigned in June after receiving a notice of investigation, and the current Councillor for Productive Activities.
The measures are linked to the second phase of an investigation, as stated in a release from the Prosecutor’s Office, conducted by the Rome Provincial Command and coordinated by the Civitavecchia Republic Prosecutor’s Office. The probe, “initiated into contracts for social, cultural, and productive policies managed by the Municipality of Fiumicino, found that certain business operators maintained improper relationships with various public officials and political representatives.”
The Civitavecchia Prosecutor’s Office had advanced a series of requests for precautionary measures against over ten suspects. This new phase follows measures issued on June 13, 2025, which focused on the sector of social policy contracts; the second phase instead concerned two other thematic areas related to the management of public contracts for productive and cultural activities.
These investigative strands necessitated preliminary questioning by the Judge for Preliminary Investigations (GIP). “Following these, the requests of the Civitavecchia Prosecutor’s Office were granted with the issuance of another 9 precautionary measures, adding to the 4 already adopted previously. Specifically, for this second phase, the following were issued and executed: 3 personal precautionary measures of house arrest for an artistic director and two business operators; 4 coercive precautionary measures, including obligations to report to the judicial police, along with residency bans and obligations for two councillors, a Fiumicino municipal official, and a business operator; 1 interdictive measure suspending a Fiumicino municipal director from their functions for 12 months; and 1 interdictive measure for an entrepreneur prohibiting contracts with the Public Administration for 12 months,” the release announced.
