A 24-year-old Roman man, already known to law enforcement, has been arrested by the Carabinieri’s Radio Mobile Unit in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office. He was found in possession of over a thousand ecstasy pills, believed to be destined for the capital’s nightlife scene. The arrest occurred in the EUR district when the suspect, spotting a passing Carabinieri patrol, began to run and threw a bag to the ground while on Via dell’Arte at the intersection with Via dell’Aeronautica. The suspicious officers immediately gave chase and, after some difficulty, apprehended him. Inside the discarded bag, they recovered three packages containing a total of 1,008 MDMA pills, weighing just over half a kilogram. The drugs are estimated to have a street value of approximately €40,000. The arrest has been validated by the Court of Rome.
