Romanian Man Arrested for Stalking His Lawyer in Rome

A 32-year-old Romanian national has been arrested by State Police on stalking charges against his attorney. The man is accused of engaging in a continuous campaign of harassment. The case was escalated under the Code Red protocol, a measure for gender-based violence, after the lawyer reported her former client’s behavior to officers at the Vescovio police station.

The professional recounted to police that after providing him legal assistance on multiple occasions, the man began to make unwanted romantic advances. When his attention was not reciprocated, he allegedly began to harass the woman with increasing persistence.

The investigation found that the suspect repeatedly showed up unannounced at her law office and placed incessant calls to her business line, each time using a different phone number. Following the evidence gathered by State Police, the Rome Prosecutor’s Office requested and was granted a protection order for the lawyer by a judge for preliminary investigations.
