For ten days, from August 29th to September 7th, the historic center of Rieti will be transformed into a stage dedicated to bold flavors and the myriad nuances of the precious chili pepper. The city is hosting the 14th edition of the World Championship Chili Pepper Fair, one of the most vibrant events on the Italian food and wine scene.
According to a press release, the Lazio Region’s Department of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, in collaboration with the regional agency ARSIAL, will play a leading role with an institutional space dedicated to promoting the regional agri-food heritage. The space will feature live cooking demonstrations, educational activities, and opportunities for discussion between producers, institutions, and the public.
Councillor Giancarlo Righini stated, “The World Championship Chili Pepper Fair is a valuable opportunity to promote the excellence and biodiversity of Lazio’s agri-food sector. Events like this allow us to enhance our producers, support the quality of local supply chains, and strengthen the area’s food and wine identity. Our commitment, also through ARSIAL, is to guide businesses towards innovative and sustainable models while fostering a meeting of tradition, innovation, and internationalization.”
ARSIAL President Massimiliano Raffa emphasized, “The Rieti Chili Pepper Fair is an ideal framework to showcase the vitality and quality of Lazio’s agri-food. Within our institutional space, we aim to give value to the work of businesses, foster dialogue with consumers, and promote food education and culture. This is the operational translation of the Lazio Model: creating synergies between institutions, territories, and supply chains to generate shared value and strengthen our system’s competitiveness in Italy and abroad.”
