Renowned Norwegian photographer Solve Sundsbo, celebrated in visual arts and fashion, has captured stars including Luisa Ranieri, Isabella Rossellini, Eva Herzigova, Tilda Swinton, Venus Williams, and Irina Shayk for The Cal 2026, the Pirelli Calendar. Backstage images have been released. Shooting occurred across three sessions: April in Norfolk and Essex, June in London, and July at New York’s Spring Studios. Sundsbo described his concept ‘Elements’ as aiming to capture core human emotions and instincts: “Desire for freedom, curiosity, thirst for knowledge. A kind of mystery, imagination, passions, desire for emancipation, the bond with nature, and our relationship with time and space. A way to connect to something we come from. These are big themes, but we aim to be ambitious.” Adria Arjona, Susie Cave, Gwendoline Christie, Du Juan, and FKA Twigs also feature. Drawing from cinema, fashion, music, and sport, the women embody elements like water and wind. Guided by Sundsbo’s creativity, the images poetically blend nature, emotion, and technology, reflecting the edition’s theme dedicated to female power. The Pirelli 2026 Calendar will launch in Prague this November.
