The Piedmont Regional Council held a minute of silence for Yosif Gamal, the 69-year-old worker who died yesterday after falling from a crane in Turin. Council President Davide Nicco stated, “This latest tragic event, together with those that also occurred yesterday in Monza, Rome, and the Catania area, underscores the urgent need to intensify prevention, promote a widespread and attentive safety culture, and translate every commitment into effective measures to ensure such dramas do not repeat.”
“On my own behalf and that of the entire Piedmont Regional Council, I extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family, his colleagues, and all those facing such immense grief,” added Nicco. He then invited the council to observe “a minute of silence in memory of Yosif Gamal and of all the people who every day lose their lives while doing their jobs.”
