Nurse Confesses to Drugging, Dismembering Son in Udine Court Hearing

During a custody confirmation hearing before the preliminary investigations judge (GIP) at the Udine Tribunal, 61-year-old nurse Lorena Venier confessed to murdering and dismembering her 35-year-old son, Alessandro. Venier detailed the killing, stating: “We decided to kill him by putting him to sleep: I emptied an entire blister of medication into lemonade, but it wasn’t enough. At that point, I gave him two insulin injections since he wouldn’t fall asleep completely. I had the insulin at home for about 5 years. I took it from my workplace because at the time I had decided to use it to kill myself.”

Venier further explained the prolonged death to investigators: “We stunned him with a sleeping pill around 5:30 PM, but he only died around 11:00 PM because we couldn’t finish him off.” She described subsequent attempts: “Once the insulin took effect, we tried to suffocate him with a pillow, but Alessandro kept reacting, even though he was weak.”

Regarding the dismemberment, Venier told the court: “The plan didn’t involve cutting him up. I did that alone when we realized the body wouldn’t fit in the bin where it was supposed to decompose, while we waited to scatter the remains in the mountains. At that point, I cut him into three pieces with a hacksaw, and Mailyn transported him to the garage and covered him with lime.”
