The Italian government is preparing to introduce a legislative decree containing new measures on workplace health and safety. The upcoming decree aims to enhance accident prevention capabilities, improve the effectiveness of inspections, strengthen training programs, and launch initiatives to promote a stronger culture of safety. The Ministry of Labour, led by Minister Marina Calderone, is currently finalizing the text in consultation with trade unions and employers’ associations. Sources indicate the timeline for its introduction is expected to be tight. To improve the efficacy of controls, the decree also plans to leverage data already available on existing platforms, such as Siisl (the Information System for Social and Labour Inclusion).
