A reporter and cameraman from ‘CalcioNapoli24 TV’ were assaulted and subjected to verbal abuse in Florence following Napoli’s victory over Fiorentina. The local broadcaster reported the incident, stating the attack occurred while the two were live on air.
According to the network’s account, their correspondent, Manuel Guardasole, was first verbally assaulted. Subsequently, their cameraman, Vittorio Bernardo, was shoved violently. The broadcaster emphasized that both were simply doing their jobs with the professionalism characteristic of their outlet, without provoking the local Fiorentina supporters.
The aggression took place near the broadcaster’s setup just outside the pre-filtering zone of the Stadio Franchi after the final whistle. CalcioNapoli24 stated that several small groups of fans hurled various insults at Guardasole during his live link to the studio, including threats like, “you’d better get out of here,” and other expletives.
The local TV station further reported that at one point, a member of an organized group of Viola fans pushed the cameraman and forcefully redirected his camera toward a building wall, all while the broadcast was still live.
The network has called for “serious measures” to be taken against the involved fans. The director of CalcioNapoli24, Salvio Passante, expressed solidarity with the two colleagues and is considering pursuing all appropriate legal avenues to ensure their safety and protection.
