Lorena Venier, a 61-year-old nurse from Gemona (Udine province), confessed to killing and dismembering her 35-year-old son Alessandro in a meticulously planned murder carried out with her 30-year-old daughter-in-law, Mailyn Castro Monsalvo, identified as the instigator.
Venier stated: “I thought time would make it decompose. Later, I intended to take it to the mountains to abandon it there – where he said he wished his remains to rest.” Her testimony, detailed in the investigation, explains why no others were involved: “We believed we could manage everything alone. Once dismembered, we only needed to wait for decomposition before taking it to the mountains.”
